Vijay Khatu (1954 — 26th july 2017) was a sculptor who made idols of Lord Ganesha . He made about 250 idols of Lord Ganesha up to 25 feet tall in 40 years. He had an idol making factory near the Railway Workshop in Parel area of ​​Mumbai.

Vijay Khatu's father was employed in Podar textile mill for about 30 years. Vijay Khatu himself worked in a Swadeshi textile mill for about 6 years, till it had been closed own.
