VieON is a video-on-demand and television service provided by DatVietVAC Group Holdings.[1]

VieON claims to be Vietnam’s most advanced Over-The-Top (OTT) platform with the most complete streaming library curated for Vietnam.[2] Aside from providing access to more than 100 traditional TV channels, VieON will boast over 100,000 hours of content, including copyrighted movies, dramas, game shows and variety shows both local and abroad.[3]

History

Founded in 1993, DatVietVAC Group Holdings is the first and largest privately-owned media group in Vietnam.[4] In 2013, it was named one of the top-25 global growth companies by the World Economic Forum.[5]

With its official relaunch in 2020, VieON was the result of four years of research and development by DatVietVAC Group Holdings and its partnership with BCG Digital Ventures.[6]

Features

Understanding that existing OTT platforms in Vietnam — including large international players — are lacking in content suited to local tastes (Vietnamese and Asian series and shows), VieON claims to offer its service with a focus on the Vietnamese audience, providing a wide array of local dramas, movies, and shows alongside its international content.[7]

VieON’s content library includes exclusive titles such as Vietnamese TV Series Gao Nep Gao Te and Gao Nep Gao Te Season 2, Vietnamese web drama Hai Duong Trong Gio, VieON’s original mini drama Khong The Roi Mat, along with releases of other Vietnamese content from local directors and producers.[8]
