Victoria Riess, MBA is a German Senior Strategy Leader in Technology and award-winning Top Women Leader.[1][2] She founded the field of quantum computing, cryptocurrencies and cybersecurity, where she serves as technology expert.[3]

Early life and education

Riess was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and grew up in Germany, France and the United Kingdom. As a child, Riess became interested in technology when she discovered software development and later became interested in the relationship between technology, processes and people. She completed her undergraduate degree in international business studies at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Riess graduated in international cultural and business studies from University of Passau.[4] After graduation, Riess worked as Senior Strategy Leader, then enrolled in post-graduate studies at University of Cambridge in management with a focus on digital transformation.[5] Her research involves the impact of quantum computing on cybersecurity as well as AI development on the European Union’s AI Strategy.[6]

Career

Riess joined Deutsche Bahn as Corporate Strategy Analyst as part of the leadership team in the Corporate Strategy division in 2014. After two years, she was promoted to Managing Consultant in the Strategy Advisory division at Mastercard in 2016 and to Manager at McKinsey in 2022.[7] She founded her own company Riess Consulting in 2020.[8] Her area of focus is on strategy, leadership, digital transformation and cybersecurity.

Riess is also a technology evangelist and has been called a digital transformation thought leader.[3] She has been a keynote speaker at large conferences, including Chaos Communication Congress, the world's second largest cybersecurity conference.[9][10] She publishes technology articles on her own blog,[11] and her writing has also been featured on UX Collective and gitconnected.[12][13] She was selected by WomenTech Network as the WomenTech Global Awards Winner for 2021 and by Goldman Sachs as the TechWomen100 Award Winner for 2021.[1][2]
