Vicky Pasion (born 13 November 1992), is a British singer-songwriter and performer. She has released two projects, Valley of the Ashes (2020) and MOBO supported Soul Star (2022)[1]

Early life

Vicky Pasion was born and raised in Camden, London. Her mother is Filipino and her father is Sri Lankan.[2] She began her career on London's West End playing Young Nala in Disney's stage production of The Lion King, as well as performing in the touring UK stage production of Michael Jackson's Thriller Live. [1][3][4]

Music career

Pasion made her solo music debut in 2017, independently releasing her mixtape Life is but a Vapour on SoundCloud, ultimately leading to a headlining performance at the Notting Hill Arts Club.[5] In 2018/2019 she travelled to the Philippines and Sri Lanka, exploring the sounds of her cultural heritage she wrote and released her debut project Valley of the Ashes (2020) to a sold out audience at the O2 Academy Islington[5][6]

In 2021, Vicky Pasion was awarded funding by Help Musicians in partnership with the MOBO Awards to support the creation and release of her sophomore project Soul Star (2022).[7][8][1]

In 2023 Pasion released her single 'Body Takeover' in partnership is Sony Music's independent arm AWAL. Taking her soulful artistry and infusing it with overtones of afrobeats. Body Takeover was awarded 'track of the day' by Clash Magazine - hailed as 'irresistibly catchy'. [9]

Musical style

Vicky Pasion has cited Contemporary R&B influences Whitney Houston, Maria Carey and Toni Braxton as some of her biggest inspirations.[10][2][11]

Personal Life

Vicky Pasion is co-founder of Gifted, by Nature - a Media Company championing artists and brands through management, production and publishing.[12][13][14][15]
