Vickrant Mahajan (born 6 November 1976) is an Indian actor, author, director, producer, singer, motivator and multiple Guinness World Records|Guinness World Record holder. He is best known for directing and playing the main lead in the Bollywood film Challo Driver and for helping the Indian national wrestling team achieve its best-ever Olympic qualification result.

Early life

Mahajan was born in Jammu on 6 November 1976 to Veenaa Gupta, a homemaker, and Sham Gupta, a printer. He did his schooling at St Mary’s Presentation Convent Jammu and later studied book publishing at the University of Denver. On his return, he joined HarperCollins Publishers in New Delhi as a manuscript editor. In 2003, he won the first runner-up and Mr Photogenic title at the Mister India World|Grasim Mr India pageant. In 2009, he wrote a self-help book called Stretch Yourself which became a bestseller. In 2012, he made his Bollywood debut with a romantic comedy Challo Driver in which he featured alongside Prem Chopra, Kainaz Motivala and Manoj Pahwa.<

Guinness World Records

On 19 September 2014, Mahajan gave a 48 hour-31 minute nonstop speech at the KL Saigal Hall in Jammu that created a Guinness World Record for the longest speech marathon. On 14 August 2015, along with eight students of Model Academy Jammu, Mahajan created an original play that went on for 24 hours and 21 minutes and created a Guinness World Record for the longest play. Some of his other world records are the largest book signing, largest greeting card, most cricket deliveries played in a minute, longest squash rally and so on.

Superpositivity initiatives

In 2015, Mahajan created an initiative called "Superpositivity India", as part of which, he motivated students across all states and union territories in India to be superpositive. In 2017, he gave talks across all 50 states in the US as part of an endeavour called "Superpositivity US". In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mahajan launched various nonprofit platforms like Superpositivity Talks, Superpositivity Club, Superpositivity Concert to inspire people to be superpositive in life.

Motivating the Indian Olympic team

In 2019, Mahajan designed a motivational initiative called Goalete Program for the Indian Olympic team. In September that year, Mahajan was appointed as Team India’s motivator for the senior world wrestling championship in Astana|Nursultan, Kazakhstan. It was the first time something like this happened in Indian sport. It turned out to be the best-ever world championship for India as it won five medals and had four direct Olympic qualifications. In 2020, Mahajan motivated Team India to its best-ever Olympic qualifying tournament in Amman, Jordan, where 9 out of 13 boxers qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, setting a new Olympic qualification record for India. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Mahajan’s mentee, wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya|Ravi Dahiya, became India’s first Olympic male medallist after a gap of 9 years. Mahajan is currently working on his goal of helping Team India win 6+ gold medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics|2024 Paris Olympics.
