Verla is a small village of 354 hectares in Bardez Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Verla depends on MAPUSA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Verla is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Verla's pin code is 403510[5], and village code is 00004200. The area of Verla is segregated as 5.69 hectares irrigated area, 269.08 hectares unirrigated, the 55.17 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 24.41 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Verla is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 3685 and has total administration over 858 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 1087 male, 308 female with 1282 (91.9%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1010 males and 272 females. 43 males and 29 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 14 male and 8 female agricultural labor. 113 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of MAPUSA and North Goa to sell iron grills and make their living.
