Velpula Sarayu (born 1 January 2006) is an Indian chess player. She is the 69 highest rated active female player and the 4th highest rated female Indian player (October 2023).[1] The chess prodigy is from Warangal, Telangana.[2]
Career
She has won two national titles (U11 and U13).[3]
In 2023, she played in the Pontevedra Open in Spain and finished the tournament with 6.5/9 points and a performance rating of 2575. She got a IM-norm for her score.[4]
In August and September of 2023 combined, which includes her performance in the Pontevedra Open, she got 541.52 points.[5]
