Velimir Brezovski (1924-1983, Galičnik, Kingdom of Yugoslavia) was an author, editor and historian from Socialist Republic of Macedonia, published numerous books and texts on the 2nd world war[1] for the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Major book, 'The Liberation War of Macedonia in 1943' was written in 1971 and focuses on the history of Yugoslav Partisans forces fighting the Axis powers during the Second World War. [2]
Member of the Macedonian Partisans(1941) and member of the Communist Party of Macedonia (1944) [1] . Worked as historian (1954-1959) and graduated at the University of Skopje (1955). Worked as head of the National History Institute (1960–1983).[3]
