Varun Rakesh Avasthi is an Indian serial entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of Digicodes, India's Largest Gaming Store.[1] Apart from Digicodes, he has also founded a number of companies including MYOPENACADEMY, an educational technology and online tutoring firm that offers thousands of e-courses and e-learning programs; Indiweb Holdings, an internet company that is recognized as an official startup by the government of India, under the aegis of its Startup India programme; iVoucher and Indiacompute.[2][3][4]

Born in Delhi, Avasthi has built a reputation of an esteemed digital entrepreneur who has bootstrapped all of his companies and running them successfully. Within three months of launch MYOPENACADEMY gained over 25,000 users and subscribers.

Avasthi developed an interest in business at an early age and has been featured in a number of media and news publications, including Yahoo News, IBTimes, Hindustan Times, Zee News and several others. Avasthi has also co-founded the AIESEC chapter in Nepal.[5][6][7]

Early life and education

Born in October 1990 in Delhi; Avasthi had entrepreneurship inclinations from a young age. He has attended Fergusson College in Pune to complete Bachelors and Masters degree in Economics. During his college years; he was twice the Local Chapter President of AIESEC in Pune. He also co-founded the AIESEC chapter in Nepal. AIESEC is an international youth-run, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization that provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural internships, and global volunteer exchange experiences. The organization focuses on empowering young people to make a progressive social impact.

Career

At the age of 25, Avasthi founded Indiweb Holdings in 2016. The company was registered under the government of India’s Startup India programme. The company works as a holding company of DIGICODES, Indiacompute, iVoucher, MYOPENACADEMY, FREE2PLAY and others. All of companies and brands were bootstrapped, without any external investments.

Under his leadership, DIGICODES has gone upto to become the largest digital gaming and e-goods store in India.[8]
