Vappu Rossi is a visual and media artist based in Helsinki, Finland.[1][2][3]She is the Drawing Master of the University of Helsinki.[4] Rossi is known as a contemporary drawing artist[5][6][7][8], and as a creator of projects that combine different fields of science and art [9][10][11]. Rossi was nominated for the Fine Arts Award of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2022.[12]
Rossi’s internationally best-known productions are her movement drawing projects[13] and media artworks, that have been seen at festivals around the world since the late 1990s.[14][15] She has worked as a Drawing Master at the Art Room of the University of Helsinki since 2018.[16] Even though the history of University of Helsinki Art Room goes back more than 300 years, Rossi is the first woman holding the place.[17] [18][19][20]
