Valentin Morelle, better known by his stage name Valy Mo, is a French DJ and record producer.[1]

He is best known for his record ´Wear it Well´ & “WTF”[2] released on Musical Freedom / Spinnin' Records which reached rank No.2 in the Beatport Top 100 chart.[3] He is also the creator of a new Electro house|Electro-House music sub-genre called “Laser House”.[4] Many of his other singles also experienced great success: "Laser House" and "Gold" figured many weeks in the Beatport top 100.[5]

Recognized as one of the most innovative artist in electro-house[6] , he charted many times in Japan[7] after joining the line up of Summer Sonic Festival|Summer Sonic festival in 2015[8].

He is currently the #73 most famous Electro-House artist according to World's leading Electronic music platform Beatport (Electro-House Top100).[9]

Valy Mo is a very popular artist in Japan, his recent music is used to be featured in Japan Top40 charts.[10]

Music

Valy Mo starts his career in 2013 with a remix for the band Crystal Castles. He quickly gained attention of Bass Music superstar Skrillex, and released his debut EP “Tokyo Bright”[11] on his label OWSLA|Nest HQ in 2014, followed by “Baguette Vibe” with Dustycloud on OWSLA for the Nestivus Charity Campaign in 2015.[12] His song "Tokyo Neon" from the EP "Tokyo Bright" is used in the documentary "Electric: The Film" produced by Vice (magazine)|Vice for the famous brand Smirnoff.[13]

The same year, he signed remixes for Tchami, DJ Snake|Dj Snake[14] Gryffin and Illenium on the label Interscope Records|Interscope[15].

In 2016 he release “Brainrock” on UKF.[16] The same year, he releases "Hearts for eyes" with Cr2 records. The song is used in UK's cosmetic brand Barry M for few TV advertisements.[17]

In 2017 he releases “Wear it well” and “Mars”, both reached Millions of plays on Spotify.[18]

Followed by the EP “A Night Shift with Valy Mo” on Tchami's label Confession Records.[19]

In 2018 Valy Mo works with Insomniac (promoter)|Insomniac Events to release “Survival” on their imprint In:Rotation.[20]

In 2019 he releases “Gold” also on In:Rotation and starts discussing about his sub-genre “Laser House”.[21] The same year he releases “Dimension” on Tiësto's imprint label Aftr:hrs and make his Spinnin' Records debut.[22] Followed by “2045”[23] on the same label. The sound of “Laser House” starts to be identified in important Electronic dance music|Electronic Dance Music medias. [24]

The songs “Dimension” and “2045” both charted in Japan Top100, respectively #93[25] and #88[26]

In 2020, Valy Mo finally releases the first “Laser House” Anthem, called “Laser House” on Tiësto's main label Musical Freedom under Spinnin' Records[27] . The song charted #17 in Japanese charts[28]. The song ranked #13 in Beatport top100 most downloaded tracks.[29]

The same year he releases “WTF” on Musical Freedom[30] which stays in Beatport top 10 for 6 weeks and rank #2 most popular songs.[31]

Notable Performances

Valy Mo performed at many important venues such as Parisian famous Club “Paris Social Club”[35]. And French biggest festivals such as “Garorock”[36] and “La Foire aux Vins” alongside Axwell, Nicky Romero and DVBBS.[37]

In 2015 Valy Mo is selected among 50 artists to join Tokyo's Summer Sonic 2015 Line up with french artists The Dø and Carbon Airways. This exchange was organized by festivals Les Eurockéennes de Belfort and Summer Sonic.[38] Where he took the opportunity to perform alongside artists like Marilyn Manson, Arianna Grande, Pharell Williams, Chemical Brothers.

In 2019 he performed at India's biggest Sunburn Festival|festival Sunburn[39] in Goa. The same year he performed at Singapore largest festival at Sea, It's the Ship[40] and Vietnam's biggest festival Ravolution Music Festival[41] in Ho Chi Minh City|Hô Chi Minh City.

In 2020 Valy Mo was supposed to perform his first USA tour with an appearance at iconic festival EDC Las Vegas, and a first tour in Japan with Dutch band Yellow Claw.[42] The performances were postponed due to Covid-19 crisis.
