Valencia Renee Rush, (born April 13th), known professionally as Valencia Rush (pronounced "Valencia Rush"), is an American singer-songwriter.[1] Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, Valencia Rush started her career as a background singer for national recording artists Cheneta Jones, Thi'sl, Json (rapper), and Forever,[2] also known as Da Banggaz.[3] She released her debut EP “F**k Girl," to all digital streaming platforms in 2019.[1]
Music Career
Valencia Rush started songwriting at 15.[4] When she turned 17, Rush went on her first tour and began singing background for international and local recording artists Thi'sl, Canadian singer Anthony Gomes, and Cheneta Jones.[4][3]
Valencia Rush studied under vocal coach Ametria Dock.[4]
July 2017, she debuted her first solo artist performance, opening for Flo Rida and AJR (band)[5] at the Family Arena, in St. Louis.[4] Summer 2020, Rush made her first overseas appearance, with a digital performance for Glastonbury Festival.[3]
Early Life
Valencia Rush was born in Kansas City, Kansas and raised in St. Louis, Mo. She's the daughter of a pastor and grew up singing in the church.[3] Rush never attended public school, and was homeschooled until college. [3]
