Vaibhav Maloo (born 26 August 1985) is an Indian businessman, serving as the managing director of Enso Group.[1][2][3] He is a co-founder of Enso Healthcare[4][5]. He also served as the managing director of Tour de India, a body affiliated with Tour de France, that hosts the largest cyclothon in India.[6][7][8][9].

Enso Group is managing a portfolio of oil & gas and mining assets in Russia, Canada and Africa. They have also diversified into infrastructure. Rapid Metro Gurgaon had Enso as a JV partner.[10][11][12] Enso has small operations in solar products and turnkey in India.[13][14]

Early life & Education

Vaibhav Maloo was born in Kolkata, India. He studied in New Delhi and then Mumbai before going overseas for higher education. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a postgraduate diploma in global business from University of Oxford. He enrolled at University of Cambridge for Executive MBA but left it midway to devote full time attention in Enso Group.[15][16]

Business

Vaibhav is a founding member and current managing director of Enso Group, a family owned global enterprise which is diversified and into various sectors.

Early Career

Vaibhav Maloo began his business career early, while studying, as he took time off during his undergraduate studies to work back home, when the group started, as its founding member. His initial role was handling group business development and strategy and as he gained experience, he was appointed as the director of Ensearch Petroleum[17], the group's holding company for its's oil and gas blocks, which it sold in 2011 to Sahara India.[18]. He handled group marketing for India's business as well.[19]

He was on the board of Asian Oilfield Services, a listed oil & gas services company on Bombay Stock Exchange as an independent director for two years.[20][21][22]

In 2013, he founded Enso Foundation, a charitable body affiliated with the group.[23]

Vaibhav was part of an attempt by Enso Group to rescue once India's largest airline Jet Airways, in February 2020.[3][24]

Enso Healthcare

In 2013, he founded and lead the healthcare venture of the group as the executive chairman of Enso Healthcare, and founded Enso Care, which is a brand now for Enso Alumni.[25] Enso healthcare was in partnership with General Electric|GE, Wipro and Philips but the business was sold by the group due to internal decisions leading to an exit from the business. They had bagged public private partnership (PPP) projects to run diagnostic centres in all state run hospitals in the states of Punjab and Maharashtra.[26][27][28][29] Enso Healthcare is acting as an aggregator for manufacturing of Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines in India and South Korea, in a tie-up with RDIF, to combat Covid-19 across the world.[30][31][32][33]

Cycling

Vaibhav got involved with Tour de India, India's largest cyclothon as managing director in 2013[34]. During his initial days at the cyclothon body, he tied up with students from University of Cambridge who came and did a study on it's operational model.[35]

Vaibhav is the son of businessman Vinay Maloo and his wife Vineeta. He has a sister, Garima Bijlani. Vaibhav resides in Mumbai and travels frequently to Dubai and London for work. He is a frequent blogger and a social media activist.[42]
