Vadi is a small village of 161 hectares in Ponda Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Vadi depends on QUEULA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Vadi is also near by One lake. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Vadi's pin code is 403401[5], and village code is 00020600. The area of Vadi is segregated as 6.49 hectares irrigated area, 56.25 hectares unirrigated, the 38.78 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 59.58 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Vadi has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics

Vadi is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 506 and has total administration over 110 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of QUEULA and North Goa to sell rope and make their living.
