Like the Last Time is the eighth EP of the Russian punk band Pornofilmy, with alternately released songs by the Soyuz Music label on October 3, 14, and 31, 2016.

Creating an album

According to Vladimir Kotlyarov, the vocalist of the band, the name EP is a metaphor for the fact that the group "Pornofilms" performs every time as the last.[1]

Presentation of the first released two songs ""Like the last time"" and ""Sorry. Goodbye. Hello"" took place at a concert in St. Petersburg club "Cosmonaut" October 22 2016 as part of the tour "#Last_tour?", which started in Dnipro on September 1 and ended on December 17 in Krasnodare 2016[2][3]. The vocalist's words about the name of the tour "#Last_tour?":

"Everything we do, we do like the last time. Every time before going on stage, I hear people shouting who are waiting for us. And every time I ask myself the question — what if this concert is the last? What if I'm suddenly gone tomorrow? What if this is the last opportunity to go on stage with my best friends, sing my favorite songs for the last time, see people who have become so dear to us, people who have become dear to us for the last time? That's why every time we play our last concert. We don't know how long our group will last — 20 years or a few days. We know the main thing: the last concert of the band will definitely be the best!"

In an interview with the online magazine muz-flame.ru Vladimir Kotlyarov described the message of the song ""A dystopian song about fascism":

The country doesn't matter. Our song is not about politics, but about love. About the experiences of a person who is in such a system of values. And worldviews. A lyrical character is created who is placed in a certain environment so that we can trace his thoughts, experiences, emotions. How will a person understand this song — it already depends on his education, worldview[4].

The first song from maxi-singlea titled ""Like the last time"" it tells about growing up, about how people at the beginning of life strive to become adults as soon as possible, unnecessarily losing their carefree childhood, but when they grow up, they themselves do not notice that they have not learned to live. The second song ""A dystopian Song about fascism"" shows modern society, how many angry people surround us, is like a continuation of the story of growing up laid down by the first song. The third song ""I'm sorry. Goodbye. Hello"" tells about the youth and romantic feelings of the lyrical hero.

Reviews

Yana Sharykina is a journalist of the website Eatmusic.ru in his review of the EP, he praises each song very much: "All the tracks from the new maxi-single are live emotions on a tear..."[1]

""Like the last time"". From the very first notes, from the introduction, she blows up and does not let go until the very end, keeping in herself a deep thought about how we easily and without hesitation want to grow up as soon as possible, but in fact we never learn to be adults, adequate people, quarrel, complicate life for ourselves, fight, we betray, we ruin lives and the world around us... and that childhood can never be returned... never.

...""A dystopian song about fascism"". Strong, sharp, powerful, extremely modern and vital... Being, of course, a social reflection of the modern world, it seems to turn the soul inside out. But, despite the current situation in our society, this song gives us faith and strength of spirit with the words "fascism defeated everyone but us."

Acoustic ballad ""Sorry. Goodbye. Hello"" it is a golden mean between two aggressive and mind-tearing tracks. With its melodiousness and lightness, it seems to transfer the listener to the most romantic period of his life — youth.

Reviewer of the RockWeek website, Ru, also speaks positively about each song.[5]

The musical composition is constructed in such a way that you really live the story of the song, which is not always found in punk music.
