Vijay Kumar Dutta (born 1954) was the approach controller on duty on November 12, 1996 when the Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision occurred. On that day, a Kazakhstan Airlines Ilyushin Il-76 struck a Saudia Boeing 747 in the sky above the village of Charkhi Dadri in Haryana, India. It was one of the deadliest airplane disasters in the world.
Personal life
Vijay Kumar Dutta was born in 1954. He was married to Priya Kaur Dutta. He had three children: Ishaan (born 1982), Kabir (born 1985), and Daksh (born 1991).
