Utgard Bredvaik (11th August 1667 – 1696) was a prince of Stora Förö, a small island located in the Gothenburg Archipelago. He was born into a family of prominent islanders and grew up with a deep love for his home and its people. Bredvaik witnessed the gradual decline of the island's prosperity as the Swedish crown began to exert its control over the archipelago. The Swedish monopoly on trade and commerce choked the island's economy, leading Bredvaik to explore alternative trade relations.

In 1693, Bredvaik established trade relations with Denmark, which posed a challenge to Swedish rule. This move paid off as the island's economy began to prosper and the people began to rally behind him in his efforts for independence. However, the Swedish crown saw Bredvaik's actions as a direct threat to their control over the archipelago.

In 1696, the Swedish army descended upon the island and assassinated Bredvaik, marking the end of his short but impactful life. Despite his death, Bredvaik's legacy lived on as a symbol of the island's resistance against Swedish rule.

Today, Bredvaik is remembered as a key figure in the history of the Gothenburg Archipelago. His memory continues to be an important part of the cultural heritage of the region. The island of Stora Förö, now a popular tourist destination, serves as a testament to the island's history and the courage of its people.
