Urban Fetes is an American lifestyle brand, incorporated in 2011, by Shannon Waldron, headquartered in Chicago, United States. The company is known for offering event planning and marketing services filled with today’s lifestyle trends of music, fashion, sports and arts. It aims at connecting and engaging with dominant millennials through fascinating events, Culture cues, and social media content. Urban Fetes has been gaining popularity since 2016, after the launch of their silent party movement, they organized over 1000 silent parties. The brand also facilitates artist showcases and panel discussions at important music and film festivals. They have been successful in organizing several notable corporate events which includes, Live Nation, Sony music, Brooklyn Nets, Tom Joyner cruise, Quicken loans and National organization of minor architects[1].

History

Urban Fetes was founded by Shannon Waldron in 2011. Fetes is derived from a french word meaning festival. Waldron conceived the idea of starting Urban Fetes after attending a festival in his graduation days. After completing his education from Southern Illinois University, Waldron started executing the concept and founded Urban Fetes. Waldron started doing silent parties in 2016 which comprised of recent university graduates and his professional friends and his first one was at a Chicago Nightclub. He started maintaining a database and retaining the contacts.

In 2019, Urban Fetes hosted the first silent party for school students during the Chicago teachers strike. Since then, Urban Fetes has organized over 64 silent party events. It organizes 4 events in Chicago and has regular events in Detroit, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas[2].

Business framework

Urban Fetes has a great fan following and is famous for its silent discos concept[3]. The silent party events are hosted at different locations and each person is provided with headphones. The headphone offers volume adjustments and has music streaming from 3 different DJ’s to choose from. People can listen to their own choice of music and vibe along with people listening to the same DJ. People listening to similar channels will have the same color LED light (blue, green, red) on their headphones[4].

Urban Fetes strives towards providing their clients with captivating marketing strategies through digital trends,social media, brand partnerships and public relations. They have organized events at Long Beach’s at SXSW, Barcadia and A3C music festival[5].

Philanthropy

With the aim of giving back to the community and fight against COVID 19, Urban Fetes manufactures a washable and reusable non-medical face mask in accordance with the CDC guidelines. For every one mask sold, Urban Fetes donates one free mask to someone in need or to a health service worker. Contributing towards the Urban Fetes’s social cause, Jeezy (Atlanta rapper) joined the brand and donated over 1000 masks to the needy families in Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit[6].
