Ubaar Manja Baidyer an unsung hero of the Indian freedom struggle, belonging to the Tulu speaking Biruva community, has been overlooked by his own people and omitted from history books despite his significant contributions. He gave up his life in service to his country and was executed by the British. The eagles and other birds in Bikarnakatte are expected to consume the individual's body once deceased, but are prohibited from carrying it away. Imagine that how fearless and courageous leader he was who posed a serious threat to the British Government. He died for Independence of Udupi South Canara in 1837
He along with another freedom fighter fought and freed south canara today's dakshina kannada a district in Karnataka state of india for 13 days. They defeated British army. On 14th day british army came back and made a attack on these freedom fighters along with soldiers from bombay presidency and madras presidency. Eventhough freedom fighters are well trained martial art practitioners they cannot defeat british army because it was a huge army compared to these fighters.
