Uğur Çoban is a Franco-Turkish singer, songwriter born April 05, 1987 in Paris.[1]

Biography

He is the son of a modest family of Alevi faith which includes his mother Nazengul, his father Ali Riza, his big sister Yelda and his little sister Yeliz.

His parents lived for a few months after his birth in a small Parisian apartment in the 10th arrondissement, then they moved to Sarcelles in the Val d'Oise where Uğur grew up.[2]

It was in 1993, at the age of 6, that his father decided to pass on his knowledge to him. It is from this moment that Uğur becomes acquainted with the Saz. Left-handed by birth, Uğur was forced to learn to play his saz with his right hand. His father, convinced that his son will be led to play other musical instruments later and that he will be more comfortable with the right hand, encourages him to use this hand to play his instrument.[3][4]

In 2016, Uğur Çoban launched and created his own music group which he decided to name “Yeksan” which means humble, modest in Turkish. It is a word that precisely defines the musical world seen by Uğur.[5]

In May 2018, he made his first clip with his group in Corsica.[6]

In July 2019, Ugur decides to make a clip on a Kurdish Mashup accompanied by her little sister Yeliz. They then decide to shoot this clip at l'Escala in Spain. Their clip broke records on YouTube, it reached 8 million views and took its place among the most viewed Kurdish Mashups on digital platforms.[7][8]
