Tuğhan Telatar (born May 14, 1976, Ankara) is a Swiss engineer, sports shooter, and local politician of Turkish origin, based in Sevelen, Switzerland. He has held several roles in engineering and product development, achieved notable results in sport shooting, and is actively involved in municipal politics.

Education and Career

Telatar completed his primary and secondary education at TED Ankara College. He earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University and holds an MBA from Başkent University.

He began his career at Hilti, working in both Turkey and Liechtenstein as a field engineer, project manager, and product manager. During this time, he led projects involving cable tray systems for shipbuilding and mounting structures for solar farms. He later served as a project manager at Evatec AG, specializing in the production of thin film coating machines used in the semiconductor and optics industries.

He continued his career as a product manager at Leica Geosystems, focusing on ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technologies. As of 2024, he works as a product manager at Elpro AG.

Sports Career

Telatar is an active competitor in 10-meter air pistol shooting. In 2024, he achieved 4th place at the SSV (Swiss Shooting Federation) 200th anniversary competition and placed 5th at the Swiss National Championships. He is a member of Pistolenschützen Liechtenstein and has won multiple regional competitions, including club championships in the 25 and 50-meter disciplines.

Political Involvement

Telatar is a member of the Social Democratic Party (SP). He ran for the Sevelen Municipal Council in the 2024 elections and currently serves as Vice Chair of SP Migrant:innen in the Canton of St. Gallen. He also sits on the Energy Commission of the Sevelen municipality.

He creates content on sports shooting and engineering topics via social media. His YouTube channel has over 3,000 subscribers, and he maintains a presence on Instagram and Facebook with over 1,000 followers combined.
