Travelstop is a business travel management startup based in Singapore.[1] The company was founded by Prashant Kirtane, Altaf Dhamani, and Vijay Aggarwal in 2017.[2] It is best known for its business travel management solutions for business travelers and companies.[3][4]

History

Prashant Kirtane is a serial entrepreneur who founded Travelmob which is an online vacation rental booking service. After Expedia Group acquired Travelmob in 2015, Kirtane teamed up with Vijay Aggarwal and Altaf Dhamani to found Travelstop in 2017.[5] Each founder has experience and unique skill sets from various industries that contributes to their unique market positioning.

In August 2018, they launched their platform for corporate travel and expense management with seed funding of US$1.2 million.[6][7] This funding was led by early stage Singaporean fund, SeedPlus. In mid 2019, they raised US$3 million in funding by American venture capital firms, Accel, and Strive.[8] This allowed Accel to place their representative on the board of directors of the company.[9]

The company is focused mainly on millennial business travelers and small medium enterprises in Asia region. They have expanded their services in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan in their respective local languages and currencies.

Product

The company’s product focuses on affordable, localized travel management solutions to the companies and corporate individuals. The features include a simplified booking process, completely automated expense reporting, centralized travel and expense data, relevant data insights for expenses tracking, and others.[10] There are convenience features like Book for others, Group bookings, Travel policies, Regional tax support, and others.

Their platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to customize the platform experience for companies and personalizes it for users. They have an app for both iOS and Android.

Travelstop has partnered with Traveloka to expand their inventory of flights and hotels in line with their product-centric outlook.
