Transmedia storytelling, also known as transmedia narrative or multiplatform storytelling, is a method that uses modern digital technology to communicate a single tale or story experience across numerous platforms and formats. This approach is also known as transmedia narrative.

Transmedia storytelling, from a production point of view, is the process of generating material that engages an audience by using a variety of methods to infiltrate their everyday life. A transmedia production will build tales across numerous forms of media in order to offer distinct bits of material in each channel so that it may attain the desired level of audience engagement. Not only are these bits of material connected together (either explicitly or covertly), but they are also in narrative synchrony with one another. This is an important point.
