Tiziano Magni is an Italian photographer based in New York, known for his work in fashion, editorial, advertising, and fine art photography.[1]
Career
Fashion and advertising photography
Magni’s work has included editorials for Vogue, GQ, Allure, Elle, Interview, and Marie Claire, and advertising campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Missoni, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès.[2][3] A 2012 Women’s Wear Daily caption credited Magni with a Calvin Klein Underwear advertisement featuring Kate Moss and Michael Bergin.[4]
Fine art photography
In November 2010, Magni exhibited work at Ricart Gallery in Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach, in a two-artist exhibition with Carlito Dalceggio.[5] For the series presented, the female models self-activated the camera; Magni did not control the shutter release.[5] In February 2014, Magni exhibited Curiosity Killed the Cat at Ricart Gallery, Wynwood, Miami, in a two-artist show with photographer and filmmaker Carter B. Smith.[6]
Recent work
In July 2025, Magni’s photograph One Eye Close to See, depicting a young woman with a red veil and one eye visible, was published as the cover of La Lettura, the arts and culture supplement of Corriere della Sera, and released simultaneously as a certified digital collectible.[2]
From June 20 to October 16, 2026, Magni’s exhibition DETACH beyond the body is on view at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at Masnago Castle in Varese, Italy.[1][3]
Style and reception
“Magni’s work doesn’t impose itself. It seduces through stillness, through the tension of what is not said. He’s an image-maker who understands that mystery can be more powerful than clarity.”—Gianluigi Colin, artistic director of Corriere della Sera[2]
“Magni’s gaze moves between formal rigor and imaginative freedom, giving life to compositions that often take on the character of suspended and surreal narratives.”—Living: Corriere della Sera editorial staff[1]
“Usually, the photographer controls the speed of the shutter. By externalizing the role of the photographer, a new time space of the photo shoot is created.”—Tiziano Magni[5]
