Tizazu H. Mekonnen is an associate professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo.[1] and serves as the director of the IBET PhD Project[2]. He has received his PhD from the University of Alberta. Prior to his academic position at the University of Waterloo, he was a research scientist at E.I. DuPont, a global fortune 500 chemical company[3]. His research focuses on Polymer Modifications, Sustainable Polymer Systems, Plastic Recycling and Upcycling, Polymer Composites, and Environmental Chemical Engineering[1]
