Titi Akinsanmi is a digital economy and public policy expert. Working with governments, civil society, private and academic sectors, to shape policies and regulations to create an enabling environment for a thriving digital economy around the globe. She was born to Nigerian parents on the 9 October 1980 in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
Education
Titi holds a certificate in English common law from the University of London, BA in English from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; a master's degree in public policy from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa; and an LLM from Osgoode Law School, York University (specializing in privacy and cybersecurity). She is also a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at the faculty of law, Harvard University.
Career
Titi has over 20 years of experience in the digital ecosystem, focusing on creating an enabling environment for innovation in the digital economy. She currently serves as the Policy and Government Relations Lead for West and Francophone Africa at Google. In her capacity at Google, Akinsanmi is responsible for guiding policies related to privacy and government relations, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is responsible for developing and presenting Google's products in a manner that respects user privacy and balances individual rights with societal needs.
She was a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University from 2018 to 2020. Additionally, she serves as an advisory member on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Digital Economy and sits on the boards of various organizations focused on digital economy, arts, and youth development.
Titi is also known for her published academic work in the field of digital policy, where she addresses issues related to technology adoption, privacy, and regulatory frameworks necessary for fostering innovation.
