Timothy Warren Furey is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist.He is the founder and CEO of Tradeview Markets, a global financial services company known for its expansion into multiple international markets, including Latin America and Europe.[1]
Early Life and Education
Furey earned a degree in finance from Southern Connecticut State University, where he developed an interest in global markets and trading strategies.[2]
Career
Early Career
Furey began his career in the financial industry as a commodity broker before joining Merrill Lynch Futures Division, where he trained under experienced futures traders. He later became a floor trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, focusing on commercial hedging and market-making. During this period, he observed the transition from open outcry trading to electronic platforms, which influenced his later focus on computerized trading.[3]
In 2001, Furey joined Schonfeld Securities as a company trader. By 2004, he relocated to New York City.
Founding of Tradeview Markets
In 2004, Furey founded Tradeview Ltd., initially operating as a division of Rosenthal Collins Group, specializing in Forex trading.The company became an independent brokerage in 2009 and rebranded as Tradeview Markets in 2015 to reflect its international expansion.[4]
Under Furey's leadership, Tradeview Markets has introduced multiple trading platforms, including MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, Takion, Lightspeed Trading, Sterling, DAS, and CQG. The company has also established strategic partnerships to enhance its global offerings and regulatory compliance.[5]
Philanthropy
Furey has been actively involved in supporting grassroots rugby union, particularly youth and women's rugby. His philanthropic efforts include sponsorships for rugby teams and events, such as the inaugural Leicester Tigers Women’s Team and the Cayman Islands Summer Corporate Touch Rugby League.[6]
