Early Life

Timothy Geoffrey Rodland was born on 25 October 1984 in Nassau, The Bahamas to a Bahamian mother, Mary Louise Rodland (nee Darville), and an American father Theodor Gordon Rodland. He is the third of four children. His mother is a mixed-race Bahamian and his father is a Caucasian American whose parents emigrated from Norway to the United States. Tim attended St. Andrews school in Nassau, the Bahamas for his primary and secondary education and graduated from St. Andrew’s School in 2002. He later attended Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York where he graduated with a BA Degree in Business and Liberal Studies. He grew up in The Bahamas and the United States (Chicago and New York) and attended summer school in France and Spain as a teenager. As a child, Tim always had entrepreneurial ambitions. He made his first personal sale as a teenager when he sold his aunt’s treadmill and received a commission for the sale.

Career

In his third year of college, Tim toyed with the idea of quitting to pursue a career in music. However, with pushback from his parents he made a deal that after graduation he would try his hand at music. This was a short-lived pursuit, and after the death of his father in 2010, Tim accepted a job in the insurance field to provide stability and moral support to his family.

He soon discovered that an insurance career was not his passion and maintaining a keen interest in sales, he transitioned to the real estate field. This is where he found his niche. Tim got his real estate license in 2009 and worked with one of the top real estate firms in Nassau where he got leading on-the-job training as a real estate broker. In 2012, he transitioned to Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate | MCR Bahamas where he was able to apply his training and push his limits. At Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate | MCR Bahamas, he was named the top sales broker for many consecutive years. Today, Tim is recognized as one of the top brokers in The Bahamas.
