Timothy Tim O'Hare is an American attorney and Republican politician currently serving as County Judge of Tarrant County.

Early life and education

O'Hare is a fifth-generation Texan who has resided in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for his entire life.

Upon graduating from R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas, he attended The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Finance. O'Hare then went on to earn a law degree from SMU Law School.[1].

Personal life

O'Hare is married to his wife, Christen, and the couple have four daughters, and reside in Southlake, Texas.

He is a member of First Baptist Grapevine, where he serves as a Deacon. The O’Hares are long-time volunteers in the children’s ministry.

Professional life

Early in his career as an attorney, O'Hare founded his own law firm in 2001. Over the next two decades, he served clients across North Texas before exiting the successful business.

O'Hare also ran a successful real estate investment company.

Public service

O'Hare began his public service when he was elected to the City Council of Farmers Branch, Texas in 2005. In 2008, he won the office of Mayor and served in this capacity until 2011[2].

In 2013, Governor Rick Perry appointed O'Hare to serve on the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners to help clean up Medicaid fraud in the dental industry, a position O'Hare held until the term expired in 2017.

Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn appointed O'Hare in 2018 to serve as Chairman of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Civil Service Commission, a body that rules on the suspension, termination, or other disciplinary action when employees disagree with action taken by the Sheriff’s Department[3].

After his successful 2022 campaign for County Judge in Tarrant County[4], O'Hare was named Chairman of the Tarrant County Workforce Governing Board[5] and named a member of the North Texas Council of Governments Executive Board[6]
