Thinknum Alternative Data is a US-based technology company that specializes in creating alternative datasets used by asset managers and enterprise clients.[1] The company gained notoriety during the GameStop short squeeze in early 2021, as it launched a product that allows investors to track their portfolio companies on Reddit.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
Thinknum's machine learning algorithms index the public web to create more than two dozen structured datasets, such as job listings, social media traction, employee sentiment, product pricing, store locations, and Reddit mentions.[8] Customers can access the data via an API or User Interface in order to track more than 500,000 public and private companies around the world.
