Biography

Education

Elziere obtained a degree in engineering at the École centrale de Lyon in 2003.[2][3]

Fotolia

While working as an intern at Amen in 2004, Elziere came up with the idea of creating an image bank to facilitate searching for visuals for advertising purposes. As such, he co-founded Fotolia in November 2004 with Oleg Tscheltzoff.[4] Fotolia became one of the largest image banks in the world before being sold to Adobe Inc. in 2014 for $800 million[5] and closed in 2019.[6]

eFounders

In 2011, Elziere launched eFounders, a startup studio based in Paris and Brussels, with co-founder Quentin Nickmans.[7] The startup studio specializes in the BtoB SaaS software sector. Upon founding eFounders, Elziere and Quentin Nickmans launched five companies: Mention (company), Mailjet, TextMaster, Front (company) and Aircall.[2] Since then, eFounders has launched thirty startups,[8] including Spendesk, which raised $100 million in 2021.[9][10] Thibaud Elziere supported the startup for 18 months before it became independent.[9]

Business angel activities

Since the sale of Fotolia, Elziere has been investing in startups.[11] Notably, he has shares in Algolia, Payfit and Meero. He has been diversifying his investments to include car rental (Virtuo),[12] catering (Wild & The Moon), textiles (Tekyn) and mobility (Cowboy)[13][14]

Folk

In July 2019, Thibaud Elziere became the CEO of Folk, a contact management platform he co-founded. This was his first time back in the role of CEO since eFounders was established.[15][16]

Thibaud Elziere is in the Challenges (magazine)|Challenges ranking of the 500 richest people in France in 2021.[17] The Institut Choiseul ranked Thibaud Elziere fourth in its 2019 annual ranking of internationally recognized young leaders.[18]
