Teofan I, Serbian Patriarch (also spelled Theophanes) was the archbishop of the Serbian Patriarchate of Peć and the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1435 to 1446.[1]

On the occasion of the enthronement of Patriarch Dimitrije in Peć, Stevan Dimitrijević published a list of Serbian archbishops and patriarchs in the Monument, printed on that occasion. Behind Patriarch Nikon (1419-1435), Dimitrijević mentioned Patriarch Teofan as his successor.

There are historians who do not mention Teofan (Theophanes) in the list of Serbian patriarchs or mention Patriarch Teodosije after Patriarch Nikon, as is the case in the Monument from the time of despot Đurađ Branković. In that case, it is obviously Patriarch Teofan, who was wrongly named "Teodosije".
