Television producers are those who are in charge of one or more areas of video production for a television show they are involved with. A few producers take on a more executive position, in that they develop new shows and present them to television networks, but after a programme has been accepted, they devote their time and energy to business considerations such as budgets and agreements. Several other producers are more active in day-to-day operations, taking part in tasks such as screenplay, set design, casting, and directing.

On a television programme, there are a plethora of various producers. Whereas a traditional producer is one who oversees a show's budget and keeps a schedule, this is no longer the case in today's television industry.
