Tat Cheng (Chinese: 鄭達鴻; born 20 October 1989 in Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong District Councillor representing Tanner, Eastern District.

Early life and education

Cheng was educated at Cheung Chuk Shan College and St. Stephen's College[1]. He then received Bachelor of Social Policy & Public Administration degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From 2016 to 2018, he pursued the Juris Doctor in the City University of Hong Kong[2]. He became an Accredited Mediator and reading Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in 2019.

Political career

Tat Cheng began his political journey as a Civic Party intern in 2011[3]. He officially became a Civic Party member and start serving North Point District from 2012. Elected as the first pan-democratic District Councillor in North Point in 2015[4], he followed up multiple planning issues in North Point.[5]. In 2016, Tat Cheng ran in the Hong Kong Island LegCo Election with Tanya Chan. Re-elected as District Councillor together with Shun Lee and 5 allies in North Point and Fortress Hill, winning 6 out of the 7 districts that are seen as traditionally pro-Beijing in 2019 [6][7]. In 2020, Tat Cheng is recommended to run for the Hong Kong Island constituency by the Civic Party [8].
