In 2011 and again in 2015, several international media outlets reported claims alleging that Zamani had secretly married Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. The reports appeared in mainstream publications across South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United Kingdom, prompting widespread public speculation.
Zamani publicly denied the allegations in multiple interviews, stating that no such marriage had taken place and rejecting claims regarding any personal or familial association with Zardari. Representatives of the Pakistan People’s Party and members of the Bhutto–Zardari family also issued statements denying the reports. Legal action was threatened against certain media organizations over publication of the claims, and at least one report was subsequently retracted.
