Talkative Ltd is a British software company that provides AI solutions for customer service and contact centres. Its products include live chat, AI chatbots, voice AI for phone support, and video chat, plus messaging on popular platforms (SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook). It was incorporated in June 2015 and is based in Newport, Wales (UK) at the Wesley Clover Innovation Centre.[1]
History
Talkative was established in 2015 by friends Felix Winstone and Jakub Srsen, who both participated in the Alacrity Foundation programme.[2][3]
In 2018, UKTN reported that Talkative secured funding from Wesley Clover and other existing investors plus additional support from the Development Bank of Wales and other backers.[4] In 2022, the Development Bank of Wales announced a follow-on investment of almost £0.5 million in Talkative. This was co-invested with Wesley Clover.[5]
According to Companies House, Sir Terence (Terry) Hedley Matthews has significant control of Talkative, holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of shares and voting rights (notified 1st July 2025).[6]
Products and technology
Talkative develops contact centre AI for customer service across voice and digital channels. Its platform is designed to be an AI layer that integrates into leading CCaaS, telephony systems, and CRM platforms. Its Salesforce AppExchange listing highlights features such as voice, chat, video and WhatsApp within Salesforce Lightning.[7] Mitel’s Apps & Integrations Gallery describes Talkative as an integration solution for digital channels, AI chatbots, and messaging in Mitel contact centres.[8]
Partnerships
Trade publication CRN India reported in August 2020 that Talkative partnered with Formula 1 on customer support technology for Formula1.com and F1 TV.[9] In 2023, Salesforce reported that partners “including Ogilvy Consulting and Talkative” helped F1 scale its customer journeys on Salesforce.[10]
In November 2024, Mitel announced an expanded OEM partnership with Talkative to add new AI capabilities to their contact centre portfolio.[11]
Media coverage
Trade media have covered Talkative and its leadership. For example, industry publication CX Today featured CEO Felix Winstone in January 2025, where he discussed the role of generative AI, AI copilots, and virtual agents in contact centres.[12] In September 2025, Felix Winstone also contributed an article to Call & Contact Centre Expo, exploring the adoption of Voice AI technologies and the decline of legacy IVR systems in modern contact centres.[13] Cardiff University’s National Software Academy also documents an early collaboration with Talkative in 2016.[14]
