Takahiro Sato (佐藤 崇弘, Satō Takahiro, 22 April 1980)is a Japanese Entrepreneur. Sato is the founder and still a major shareholder of LITALICO Corporation, a company serving people with special needs...[1]. He is also the founder and chairman of Capital Tokyo International School, which will open in April 2022 in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

Early Life

Born in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. Sato's parents ran a real estate business[2]. He graduated from Fukushima Prefectural Fukushima High School. After failing the medical school entrance exams twice[3], Sato enrolled at the Faculty of Business Planning at Miyagi University, where he became an aspiring entrepreneur[3]. While in school, Sato borrowed 1 million yen from his parents and started day trading in September 2000, doubling the amount to 2 million yen in less than a year.

In April 2002, Sato established the "Fureai Fukushi Kai" (Friendship Welfare Association), a facility for the mentally handicapped, based on a story he heard from his handicapped uncle[3]. In addition, Sato established five group homes for the elderly, which generated annual sales of about 200 million yen[3]. In January of his senior year at university, Sato became a fixed-term executive official of Nagano Prefecture, and as welfare manager of the Commons Welfare Division of the Social Affairs Department, he started a remote outsourcing business for people with disabilities[4]

  • Established NPO Sōugō Kenkyusho (General Research Institute) and assumed the position of President.
  • Implemented a third-party evaluation project for welfare facilities that was proposed to, and adopted by Miyagi Prefecture.
  • Established Life Support, a limited liability company *Established Miyagi Welfare Research Institute, a limited liability company (group home for the elderly with dementia)
Post Graduation
  • Sep 2004: Appointed as Welfare Manager (Division Chief level), Commons Welfare Division, Nagano Prefecture (youngest in history)
  • Apr 2005: Appointed Social Counselor (Director level) and Chief of Commons Welfare Division, Nagano Prefecture (youngest in history)
  • Sep 2005: Resigned as Social Counselor and Director of Commons Welfare Division, Nagano Prefecture
  • Dec 2005: Established Ideal Career Inc. (currently LITALICO) as Representative Director
  • Jul 2009: Ran in the Mayor of Sendai election. He was unsuccessful in his bid for the mayor of Sendai, finishing fifth out of six candidates with 32281 votes. (Elected Emiko Okuyama)
  • Aug 2009: Retired as Representative Director of Wingul Corporation (renamed from Ideal Career in 2006). Appointed as Part-time Director
  • Apr 2022 Plans to open https://www.capitaltokyo.com/ Capital Tokyo International School (abbreviated CTIS) in Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo
