Taghreed Akasheh was and aviation professional in the Jordanian Airline industry. She is credited with many firsts in the Middle Eastern and Jordanian Airline Industry.

Taghreed is recorded as the:

  • First Jordanian and Royal Jordanian Female Pilot[1] and the first female Captain[2]
  • First female Captain in Royal Jordanian
  • First woman to fly the Tri-Star[3] and the first and the only female Vice-President of Operations[4]in Royal Jordanian


Taghreed Akasheh was employed by Royal Jordanian in 1975 [5] and received her Captain wings on August 17 1985

She served in many functions in Royal Jordanian in addition to her career as a pilot. Her career culminated in being the Vice President of Operations, an appointment from his Majesty King Hussein

Taghreed married to fellow pilot and Chief Pilot Badr Statieh
