Syed Ahsan Naqvi (born September 1, 1957), also known as Sam Naqvi, is an American physician and author specializing in internal medicine.[1] He is the Director of Hospital Medicine at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.[2]

Naqvi is an adjunct associate professor of medicine at Brown University, New York Medical College, and Johnson & Wales University. He is also an accomplished author, known for his fiction work, "Ground Zero."[3]

Early life and education

Naqvi was born and raised in Sialkot, Pakistan. He is the son of Syed Mahboob Hussain Naqvi, a lawyer, and Syeda Nargis Naqvi, a homemaker. He was awarded a National Scholarship during his school years. Naqvi completed his medical education at King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, graduating in 1983. He later pursued postgraduate training in the United Kingdom, earning the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) designation.

In 2007, Naqvi moved to the United States.

Career

Naqvi is an internal medicine physician. He is the Director of Hospital Medicine at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In addition to his role at Landmark Medical Center, Naqvi is an adjunct associate professor in medicine at Brown University, New York Medical College, and Johnson & Wales University.[4]

Naqvi has extensive experience in the field of internal medicine, with a focus on gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, peptic ulcers, necrosis, endoscopy, and colonoscopy.[5]

Naqvi is also an author and has written a fiction book titled "Ground Zero." He has co-authored two peer-reviewed articles.

Personal life

Naqvi resides in Lincoln, Rhode Island, with his wife, Asma Naqvi. The couple has three sons: Niall, Kamil, and Rayyan Naqvi.
