Dr. Swapankumar Ghosh is an eminent physician, dedicated social worker and scholar of Yadav's history. He was the Sheriff of Calcutta for the year 2013.

He was born on 5th January 1951, in the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal.

He is the eldest son of Mr. Bhabani Prasad Ghosh and Jyotirmoyee Ghosh and drandson of BalakRam Ghosh, one of the pinoeer leader of Yadav's socio-religious movemnets in ealy 20th centurty.

He is married to Sabita Ghosh and has two sons, Samya Ghosh and Soumya Ghosh.
