Surla is a small village of 1694 hectares in Bicholim Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Surla depends on PALE, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 25.34% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Surla is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Surla's pin code is 403505[5], and village code is 00010600. The area of Surla is segregated as 164.47 hectares irrigated area, 470.03 hectares unirrigated, the 309.67 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 742.63 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Surla has One post office (Surla B.O) and Four public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Surla has Two banks and One credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

Surla is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 3818 and has total administration over 836 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PALE and North Goa to sell cement and make their living.
