It was founded in 2010 by Clément Calvet and Jérémie Fajner (former directors of Gaumont Animation).

History

After meeting at Gaumont/Alphanim, in 2010 Clément Calvet and Jérémie Fajner founded SUPERPROD GROUP, which they've developed into a diversified film, television production and music production company with a strong base in animation. Its activities now include SUPERIGHTS, an international distribution arm focused on kids and family premium programs, 440Hz, a music rights management platform for audiovisual producers, SUPERPROD FILMS, which houses the development and production of animated and live-action feature films, and SUPERPROD DRAMA headed by Nathalie Laurent which produces prime time fiction for the French marketplace.

From their start in a living room with just the two of them, Fajner and Calvet have grown the company to over 600 staff in 3 countries. The group owns animation studios in Paris and Angoulême[3], France (SUPERPROD ANIMATION), where they've implemented a state of the art USD pipeline[4]; Milan, Italy (REDMONK STUDIO); and has offices in Los Angeles[5] and New York, headed by former DreamWorks executive Doug Schwalbe, when they acquired his production finance boutique The Coproduction Company in 2022.[6]

Red Monk Studios founded in 2017 and acquired in 2021[7] is headed by Pedro Citaristi and develops its own IP in animation and live action as well as working as a servicing studio for high quality projects. They also develop IPs for clients around the world and offer full-production servicing, including high-standard animation. The studio is currently executive producing two CG series.
