Super Bomberman R Online is an online Battle royale action-maze game developed by Konami and is a spin-off of the Bomberman series. The game was released as a Stadia exclusive title on September 1st, 2020[1]. It is also the only online-only Bomberman entry in the series.
The game received positive reviews at launch.[2]
Gameplay
Super Bomberman R Online is an online Battle royale action game in which players move through a two-dimensional grid environment to avoid getting in the blast of enemy bombs and must trap and drop bombs to defeat their opponents to become the last one standing, crowned Bomber One. The game features a Battle 64 mode and private match mode.
In Battle 64 mode, the player gets dropped in one of 16 square grid map areas at random with 63 other players and must drop bombs, avoid blasts, pick-up power-ups, trap opponents and move through to other maps to survive the match as map areas close down with time. The game drops and power-up include special effect bombs, extra life and Louie eggs. In the final map, top players battle to survive as the battle area gradually reduces in size until there is only one bomber left. The core gameplay remains very similar to that of the main Bomberman series, but players benefit from 2 lives[3] and can regain a lost life by defeating other players and picking up their life drop.

The playable characters reprises the cast of colourful bombers introduced in Super Bomberman R, as well as additional special characters available in a premium pack.
