Suman Dey (born 1 June 1986) is an Indian actor.[2] He started his career as a model. His debut in Bengali television with Ami Sei Meye produced by Nideas Creations.[3] The fitness freak actor has gained immense popularity from Nokshi Kantha where he played the lead character Dr.Joshojeet Bose and enjoys a huge fan base, thanks to the success of the show.[3][4][5][6]

Early life and Education

Suman was born 1 June 1986 in Siliguri, West Bengal.[7] He spent his childhood in different places of North Bengal. In 2003 he passed out 10th Board Final Examination from S.N. Margaret School, Siliguri[8] Then he moved to Bangalore for further studies.He started modelling when he was student.He has done his graduation in Bachelor of Commerce from Christ College(Christ University) in 2007.[9][3][1] Then he shifted to Bombay for taking ahead his career.He joined job in two corporate companies i.e JPMorgan Chase & Co and Serco Global Services.[3][10][11][12]

Career

Modelling Career (2003–2010)

In 2003-2004, he attended Grasim Mr. India 1st Round (Zonal Round). He has taken part pageants like Gladrags 2nd Round (2007-2008). He modelled for many ramp shows in Siliguri, Jalpaiguri,Durgapur & Gangtok. In Bangalore he modelled in stills, for print media and ramp shows for various brands. He was selected to act in television commercials of Arokya Milk & Lancor Central Park made by Iris Films. In Bombay he did a number of commercials for reputed electronics and consumer good brands.[3][4][10][12][1][13]

Acting Career (2010–present)

He made his television debut with a mythological National Show named Mata Ki Chowki aired on Sahara One.[12][13]He played the role of Arjun of Mahabharat. This show was produced by Swastik Productions. In 2011 his second project was Ami Sei Meye of Nideas Creations & Productions, Kolkata.[3][1] He potrayed the lead character Siddhartha opposite Rituparna Acharya. It used to air on Sananda TV. He was seen to play the male antagonist role named Arko in Star Jalsha's Chirosathi, produced by Sphere Origins in 2012.[14] He potrayed character Rahul in Swayangsiddha, which was beamed on ETV Bangla.[11] In this time he did an episodic role in CID Kolkata Bureau. He signed Bodhuboron of Acropolis Entertainment Since 2013, he potrayed the character of Abhra Chowdhury opposite Sreetama Roychowdhury.[9][10][12][15] He acted in a negative role named Zico in Membou of same production house.[3][14] This soap opera premiered on Star Jalsha 19 September 2016. He played the lead role of Rudrojit in E Amar Gurudakshina alongside Debattama Saha, which was aired on Colors Bangla.[16][17][18][19][20] In 2018, his brilliant portrayal in Nokshi Kantha on Zee Bangla earned a lot of accolades where he played the role of Dr. Joshojeet Bose a male protagonist) opposite Manali Dey.[21][22][23][24] The plot is a love story with a strong socio message.[22] It has showcased a wide range of emotions. He is now playing the character of Raja Agni in Khirer Putul. It is based on a children fantasy novel written by Abanindranath Tagore in 1896.

Since childhood he is an animal lover.His first pet was a Pomeranian.He had a Bullmastiff named ‘Don’.His hobbies are watching movies,listening music & spiritual speeches,driving,bullet riding. His only interest is acting.
