The Sultanies were a Bahraini khodmoni music band, that was founded in January 1985 and dissolved in August 2006.[1]

The band was founded by Ahmed Sultan, He started singing in the band when he was 16

They used to perform at weddings, parties and concerts. Sultan was once on Nebras Oman tv, where he performed some of his songs by Sultanies and started a q&a(Question and answer).

One of their biggest concerts was in 1999, at the Muscat festival, where they sang a number of achomi and Arabic songs, including "Ya Juweira" by the Strangers.

The band was managed by Abdullah Eshagh.[1]

They have made four achomi albums and four Arabic albums.

Music

Their Achomi music are based off of Bastaki traditional music and their Arabic music are written by Sultanies themselves.

Their most famous song is "Raftam Be Bagh" which translates to 'I went to the garden', with over 2 million views on YouTube.Although their most famous song is "Raftam be Bagh", they are mostly known for the song "Qesat Hobby" (my love story).

One of their most recognizable song is the song "Nazakon",[3]it is known by many from the gulf region, it was also sampled by Iranian American singer Kouros in the song "Naz Nakon".

Their hit song "Chai Chai" was also sampled by Kouros.

After dissolution

After their dissolution Sultan moved to singing with the famous singer ali bahr, and then after that he started singing solo, releasing an album, Ismahili, which translates to forgive me.

Sultan currently works at the Bahrain economic development board, also known as Bahrain edb, he is an Executive Director – International Offices & Business Development (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics).[4]
