Origin and family

Sultan Masood Dakik descends from barakzai dynasty, which ruled Afghanistan from 1826 to 1978.[5]"Database". www.afghan-bios.info.</ref> His father was Prince Abdul Khaliq (1927–1992). Prince Abdul Khaliq was the first Afghan to do his doctorate at the Sorbonne in Paris, his Permanent representative to the Kingdom's ambassador to the United Nations for 35 years and later Minister of Transport under his relative and close friend Mohammed Daoud Khan."Der königliche Flüchtlingshelfer | shz.de". shz.</ref> Sultan Masood Dakik's mother belongs to a saintly family, Hazrat Ishaan (title) and is said to be a descendant in a direct line and in the 30th generation of Muhammad in a significant line of leading saints, so called qutb, making him the thirteenth Hazrat Ishaan (title).[6][7]

Exile

After the Saur Revolution in year 1978 the several members of Republic of Afghanistan (1973–1978) of Daoud Khan were executed by the Saur Revolution.[8][9] Hafizullah Amin stopped the execution of Prince Abdul Khaliq, as he was his Professor at Kabul University. Prince Abdul Khaliq was hence imprisoned until 1989.[10] With his father imprisoned and further unbearable pressure on his family members made by Democratic Republic of Afghanistan|the Soviet-backed Government, he was forced to flee from Democratic Republic of Afghanistan in 1984. Together with his mother, he fled to Pakistan by feet for seven days and was evacuated to West Germany, where he lives until today.[11]

Humanitarian projects

Sultan Masood Dakik is since his exile from Afghanistan active in humanitarian aid, especially for the sake of orphan children. He was in honor for his humanitarian projects the first Afghan to be given Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.[12][13]

Development Projects

The Sultan now runs several companies in the areas of financing and consulting, in the oil business and in the field of "new technologies". He pays particular attention to renewable energy and climate protection projects worldwide.[14][15][16]

Living for 38 years in Exile, he was invited by the Government of Afghanistan in a state visit to initiate humanitarian aid and development projects with the backup of NATO.[17][18][19]

Private Life

Sultan Masood Dakik is a German nationality law and lives in North Rhine-Westphalia. He is married to his cousin Sayyida Nargis Dakik, who also belongs to Hazrat Ishaan (title). Together they have three sons.[20]
