Sugata Srinivasaraju is a prominent Indian bilingual journalist, editor, author and columnist who has editorially led print, television and digital newsrooms. He started his career with Deccan Herald in 1995, was News Editor with Hindustan Times, Editor (South) with Outlook newsmagazine, Editor-in-Chief of Vijaya Karnataka [1], a newspaper owned by the Times Group [2], Editorial Director of the Asianet News Network [3], and Cofounder of FirstPerson Media Ventures Limited [4] that ran digital news sites The State and SouthWord. He is a columnist with Mumbai Mirror (Times Group)[5] and The New Indian Express [6]. He has contributed regularly to the The Wire [7], Mint, The Caravan [8] and the Economic Times [9]

Sugata Srinivasaraju is a member of the Editors Guild of India [10], former Fellow of the Aspen Institute, USA [11] [12]and former Chevening Scholar in UK [13]. He has written three books Keeping Faith with the Mother Tongue: The Anxieties of a Local Culture [14] [15] [16], Pickles from Home: The Worlds of Bilingual [17] [18]and Kittale Nerale Perale: Avasarakke Etukida Maatu Baraha [19] [20]. He has also edited and translated books [21][22] [23].
