Submer Technologies is a European deep tech company headquartered in Barcelona, Spain.[1][2] It develops and manufactures hyper-efficient and eco-friendly immersion cooling systems for new-age data centers.[1][2] It uses a proprietary dielectric fluid that has 1000-times the cooling capacity of air.[1][2] The company offers different types of solutions such as SmartPod, SmartPodX, Turnkey Immersion Cooling, and HPC Immersion Cooling.[3][4]

History & operations

Submer Technologies was founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Daniel Pope and Pol Valls Soler.[3][5] It has over 40 clients in Europe and the U.S.[3]

In September 2018, Submer expanded its presence in the U.S. with the opening of its North American headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia.[1][6] The new location has been incorporated as Submer Inc., a subsidiary of the original company.[1][6]

Notable clients

In 2019, Submer Technologies announced its partnership with 2CRSi, an international provider of high-performance computing (HPC) hardware.[3][7] Under the collaboration, Submer provided its SmartPodX systems to the EU Joint Research Center in Ispra, Italy in September 2019.[7][4]

In October 2019, 2CRSi and Submer announced their partnership with Airbus.[8][9] In July 2019, Submer’s SmartPod immersion cooling systems were also deployed at the Goonhilly Earth Station’s new HPC data center in Cornwall, U.K.[10][11]
