Stone Ward is a full-service advertising agency with offices in Little Rock, AR and Chicago, IL.

History

The agency was founded in 1984 as Resneck Stone Ward, a small shop with three employees and four clients in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas.

By 1991, the agency, now known as Stone & Ward, began working with well-known clients such as Nickelodeon Studios and TCBY. The business continued to grow and was named the Category II Arkansas Business of the Year in 1995.

In 2007, the agency, now called Stone Ward, opened an office in Chicago, which would eventually bring on clients such as Snap-on Tools and US Soccer. That same year, 360 Filmworks, Stone Ward’s in-house production studio, became an independent full-service commercial and video production company. Two years later Stone Ward partnered with Boyette Strategic Advisors to combine economic strategy and marketing expertise.

Stone Ward acquired the Allison Agency in 2010, adding Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken and others to its client list. In 2017, founders Larry Stone and Millie Ward were inducted in the Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame.[1]

In 2018 Stone Ward was selected by PRWeek as one of the nation’s best places to work in the agency world.[2] PRWeek listed Stone Ward’s workplace in the top dozen ad agencies among 78 agencies that competed. The agency was one of four midsize agencies (51 to 200 employees) to be honored. That same year Stone Ward was named a 2018 Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation winner for its Love, Little Rock campaign.[3] Executed on behalf of the Little Rock Regional Chamber and the city of Little Rock, “Love, Little Rock” was recognized in the “Word-of-Mouth (Viral, Buzz, Talk Triggers)” category, honoring tactics that “get key audiences talking or provide an avenue for conversation using different techniques.” The Bronze Anvil awards are presented by the Public Relations Society of America.[4] Stone Ward created the Love, Little Rock campaign to help Little Rock publicly say "No" to Amazon as it sought a location for its second headquarters.[5] The campaign was recognized nationally, and AdWeek called it 'gracious and clever'.[6]

In 2019 Stone Ward was named one of the best workplaces in America by Inc. magazine. This annual list is based on trust, management, perks and employee confidence. Stone Ward was the only Arkansas company to be included.[7] In 2020, Stone Ward was named one of Arkansas' Best Places To Work by Arkansas Business.[8]
