Steven M. Abramowicz (born 1971) is an American financial advisor, podcast host, author, and media commentator. He is the host of the Heartland Journal Podcast (formerly Mill Creek View Tennessee Podcast), a political and cultural commentary program that has produced over 500 episodes featuring interviews with politicians, authors, and public figures.[1][2]
Abramowicz gained national media attention in August 2022 when he was the subject of a KIRO Newsradio report about his family's decision to relocate from Washington state to Tennessee, citing concerns over gender policies in the Greater Seattle Summer Swim League.[3] In 2023, he was quoted in The Tennessean, a major USA Today Network newspaper, regarding local political controversies in Williamson County, Tennessee.
Abramowicz has appeared as a commentator on national television networks including Newsmax,[4] One America News Network,[5] and Real America's Voice.[6] He is also the author of Songs About the Heartland: A Journey from Wall Street to Main Street (2025), with a foreword by former Alabama State Senator Hank Erwin.[7]
Early life and education
Abramowicz was born in 1971 and raised in Napa, California. His mother, Myrna Abramowicz (1944–2013), was a Democratic political consultant and civic activist who served on the Napa County Park and Open Space District board and was a founding member of Friends of Napa River.[8] He graduated from the University of Southern California.[9]
Career
Financial services
Abramowicz has over 30 years of experience in financial services. He held positions at UBS Financial Services as Senior Vice President of Wealth Management and at Morgan Stanley.[10] He is currently a Financial Advisor and Managing Director of Mill Creek Financial Partners, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services in Franklin, Tennessee.[11]
Nonprofit work
Abramowicz served as Vice President of the Board for Parent Trust for Washington Children and as Major Gifts Fundraising Chair for Education First.[12]
Media career
Podcast
In 2022, following the death of Mill Creek View newspaper founder Fred Fillbrook, Abramowicz took over operations and launched the Mill Creek View Tennessee Podcast.[13][14] The podcast was rebranded as the Heartland Journal Podcast in April 2024. The program has produced over 500 episodes and is available on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Rumble.[1][15]
